My comment on Alley McBeal: She is not that kind of stereotype attorney, with a pair of black glasses, and seldom smile. Actually, she is quite straightforward, frank and hilarious. She always makes some weird sound when something important is about to happen After changing her formal suit, she is not at all like a person working in a law firm, instead, she just like a college student. Young and easygoing.

Cultural evidence: the bathroom of the company open to both male and female called unisex is very rare to see in Taiwan.

Linguistic evidence:
1.you are 100 percent right=you are completely right

2.between you and me: when you talk to your friend about something private or secret, you can say between you and me before you tell your friend what is going on. In this case, your friend might respond “I promise”, so you will be more comfortable to continue the talk.

3.don’t get me wrong= you misunderstand what I mean.

4.She can not get over somebody =she can not forget somebody after a romantic relationship.

5.The last thing you want is to fall in love with someone =you don’t want to fall in love.

According to the information the website O’really xml.com has offered,
Its name is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication.
RSS is a web content syndication format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites like Wired news or BBC news, news-oriented community sites like Slashdot, and personal weblogs.
RSS-aware programs called news aggregators are popular in the weblogging community. Many weblogs make content available in RSS. A news aggregator can help you keep up with all your favorite weblogs by checking their RSS feeds and displaying new items for each of them.

My favorite: ABC news, travel section
Reason 1: cover related news, such as the shortage of airport screeners might cause a long line at the security checkpoint in travel season, and will further report policies or changes dealing with the problem or how to deal with overly chatty seatmates during the flight
Reason 2: Introduce a place where special occasions are taking place.
For example, a piece of news will spotlight on London, because Queen Elizabeth II recently turn 80 or on New Orleans because the 37th Annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival will soon begin.

view: variation in English words and phrases

functions of the website: word usages, collocation, synonym, distinguish words or phrases from one to another, and many, many others.
Further functions: usages whether in spoken, academic, news languages, or in fiction or non-fiction languages.

Problem solving example 1
Before: Someone busts into deep loud hearty laughter or someone laughs loudly(general and redundant)
After: Someone belly laughs (concise, specific and fresh)

Problem solving example 2
Before: spend quite some time to find out the term, handlebar, which are the holders used to steer a bicycle
After: type in [@ bicycle], and come out a bunch of terms relating to bicycle

Finding the corresponding words is not easy
As a foreign-language learner, English composition is a work combining both word creation and translation. I usually use the software, Dr. eye, and the website, babel fish translation to find the corresponding word. However, it depends on the context to judge if the translation is proper or not.

collocation and usage are problmes
By checking the example sentences in the Longman dicitonary, I can be sure if the meaning of the word is what I want and further learn the collocation.
For instance, the word”pretext” means excuse. One of the example sentences it offers is that “John left earlier under the pretext of illness.” So I can follow the pattern “under the pretext of something” to compose my writing.

Sense of language pattern is weak
There is no shor-cut. Reading and listening as much as possible

It’s only the Bob show
The benefits of Rob’s absent: a joke and a song
The joke comes from the podcast page:www.bubbabohacks.com
Take a visit to the page, you will find more funny stuff.

Punch line—necessary in a joke, is the point triggering the audience to burst into laughter.
Example: heat and cold, which travels faster?
Heat. Because it is easier to catch a cold.
So easier to catch a cold is the punch line of the joke.

The song recommended is by James McMurtry, called we can’t make it here (we can’t survive or we can’t live.)
Cultural evidence:Too late to just say no” in the lyrics of the song refers to former First Lady Nancy Reagan’s anti-drug campaign in the 1980s, in which she told kids to “just say no” to drugs. It was derided by many people as being an overly simplistic solution.
Linguistic evidence: high on drugs”or “Hooked on dope” is slang for “addicted to drugs”.
